Felt a bit rushed not sure if I didn't know OOP if it would have been benfical as I think I would have been lost. Though covering oop in an hour... hard as hell great job.
I thought there were a couple of slow/dry patches, but overall the content was good and the presentation was clear. With so much emphasis on the AWS SDK, a few more code samples might have added some value and given the audience something to focus on in addition to the narrative. Nicely done.
I haven't built apis yet in my career but amazing information delievered in a relatable way.
There are a lot of resources out there that cover clean coding, good architecture, etc., so I'll echo Ben in that the practical example(s) of how to refactor were probably the greatest source of value in the talk. Woody made his case and did a good job of giving the audience a good starting point in the event they agree with him, while not spending too much time preaching. There is always room for improvement, but aside from finishing a little early I wouldn't have guessed this was a debut talk. Good job all around.
Amazing talk about a real issue. Heard people talking about how they never realized the issue. Thank you for brining it to light.
A bit slow/dry indeed, but then again the subject matter was data structures. The example code and occasional anecdote were certainly an improvement over a CS lecture. More emphasis on the practical applications (specifically, real-world use cases for structures) would be an improvement, but overall very good talk.
Easier than I thought - thanks!
There was a lot of great content but it was delivered at blazing speed. Presentation was energetic, entertaining, and informative.
Excelent delivery.
As a female developer with anxiety issues and imposter syndrome ... this talk made me feel less alone. You also opened my eyes to the hidden minorities, which I had never really thought of before ... it's not just women and people of color who encounter crappy situations.
