Comment to organizers -
Inappropriate topic for a keynote - fine as a session.
Did not set the stage for the conference or celebrate the OS movement in Utah or provide that key note that inspires collaboration for the next three days.
Speaker - nice job with the topic. Thanks for sharing the insights from your experiences.
Disappointing talk - mostly about pointing out obvious issues with existing sites and that we should be designing responsive/mobile first. Old news. Didn't get into UX design patterns that actually work besides stating the usual platitudes of keep it simple and use more white space. Wish he covered how he manages the process in his company to actually solve the issues raised.
Nice summary of principles, but could have spent more than 5 minutes on the application to open source teams / examples of how to apply the ideas.
Well done - could have used a flowchart to illustrate stack issues.
Nice talk - Thanks for the excellent networking resources for startups!
I ended up in this talk by mistake, but decided to stay because the speaker presented the topic well and piqued my interest in the Tessel, which I knew nothing about. In the short time he showed two specific examples of coding for the device while keeping everything on-point and interesting.
My only suggestion would be to tweak the title and description a bit to give the talk broader appeal. I think this could easily have a full house if people better understood what would be covered.
This was my favorite session of day one. I went in knowing almost nothing about TypeScript, and left ready to implement it into my projects immediately. The first half gave an excellent overview of the product and it's benefits, and the second half used a concrete example by converting a small piece of Angular code.
The talk matched its description perfectly, and the presenters were professional, engaging, and to the point. I look forward to trying TypeScript!
The description of this talk made it seem like it was aimed at beginners, but the presenter spoke very quickly through the tutorials and assumed a knowledge of Vim. I was hoping to learn about this tool, but instead was left in the dust confused and frustrated.
A good talk on technical debt, which many shops tend to sweep under the rug. It was applicable to any technical stack, and the presenter was engaging and knowledgeable.
My only suggestion would be to give some examples of resources to help deal with tech debt, and perhaps to share some more specific anecdotes and/or success stories.
Excellent! Enjoyed your enthusiasm and insights
