Interesting stuff with a great presentation style.
Brave to share your struggles. It can be very easy to let everything get on top of you and make it seem like there is no escape.
Good luck next year!
Great introduction to the subject AND you provided a Vagrant box to play around with. Wish everyone did this!
A+++++ WOULD SEE SPEAK AGAIN
Great Keynote speaker and message to start off the conference.
My only criticism would be to pedantically point out that it didn't really talk about how PHP changed the world of programming.
While the pace was a bit too fast (for me at least), there was so much material to cover. You could easily split this into two really fascinating talks.
This has certainly whetted my appetite for Hack, it sounds so much better than vanilla PHP.
Interesting, but I didn't get why I'd *want* to use any of these new features. Just about everything covered can already be done in other ways, perhaps more clearly.
An enjoyable talk to finish of the conference, with a good range of experience offered to benefit those at all levels.
Very well presented talk, had expected a few more general tips to help avoid the lego-stairs-in-the-bathroom scenario. Instead the second half got a bit bogged down in explaining UML, which I'm sure most of us have done before. Still, a useful reminder that UML doesn't have to be an overly-detailed spidery type of documentation but in a less formal form can be a quick way of helping devs visualise things before they jump in.
I've been thinking about using Composer in my day job to break up a large library, but wasn't sure how to go about it. Now I think I've got all the information I need. I think this was my talk of the conference.
