The line above should prove that I'm immune to subliminal messages!
Jokes aside, Rob did a very good job at pointing out the do's and don'ts, the should, should'nts and musts, the 'I love you if you do this' and ' I'll scorn you if you do that' for software engineers that work with APIs. His demonstration of using Slim and how useful it is in building APIs fast was excellent, and although, as it often happens when one does LIVE DEMOS, not everything went according to plan, he dealt with the issues in a remarkable way, and managed to keep the audience entertained and plugged in ( most of the times at least ). Congrats!
Nice examples of applying dependency injection and Liskov substitution to safely refactor less than optimal code and bring it to a testable ( but not necessarily optimal ) state. I enjoyed Katy's take on the topics, and her quirky ( and slightly geeky ) sense of humor!
Lots of interesting, useful and to the point nuggets in this talk. I am a hands-on line manager myself, and I learnt a lot from it, but I'm absolutely sure that it was as useful for junior, mid and senior software engineers. Very nicely presented by Hilary, congrats!
It was interesting to hear about Jessica's "eureka" moment, and how it changed her outlook on life, but the only takeaway from the keynote was "don't be a dickhead". And if I'm already not a dickhead then I didn't really gain anything. Hopefully, the others less fortunate than myself made plenty of notes.
A very good overview of where Bref is at with serverless technologies delivered by a very good presenter. More next year, s'il vous plaît.

Superb. Clearly presented with good advice AND showed me that there's no point in using this stuff until it's properly released as part of the language, potentially saving me hours of my time! 10/10. Would recommend. I hope to see more talks from Dave in the future.
Firstly, I am NOT a fan of keynotes; they are too general and often have no relevance to PHP. But Joel absolutely smashed this. Mental health is not a stigma. It should not be hidden away from sight so people have to suffer in silence. Mental health must be openly spoken about and only more brave individuals like Joel speaking about their experiences so passionately are going to change this. So bravo, Joel, you were one of the outstanding talks this year.
This tutorial definitely had potential but, as Gabi rightly concluded, she needed much more time to deliver it. It didn't feel "rushed", per se, but if something didn't work for you — the Google console container not provisioning, database not connecting, etc — then you were essentially left behind to watch the rest of the tutorial unfold on the screen. It was still pretty interesting, though, and I would recommend it more if the duration was longer.
If we would have been at a motivational speaker event, this would have been a 5 stars rating!
We were at a PHP conference however... And it's still a 5 stars rating!
