Talk comments

Excellent talk as always from Derick, full of useful information.

While I thought Chris a good keynoter, the content excellent and the talk well delivered, I would have preferred more content about its relevance to PHP.

I sat on the front row. Felt like I had the front row seats of a concert, your energy delivering this keynote makes it the best talk of the conference for me. Thank you for sharing your important message and an experience that a lot of us need to hear.

This talk initially felt confusing. I didn't know what I got out of it until after the session, but once it clicked it was brilliant. I don't really think you shared advice on how to avoid the Shiny Object syndrome for me. I think you shared advice on how to work better as an individual in a team - And that was also very valuable. I'd love to see this talk turn more into a "working together" talk, incorporating the shiny object syndrome, than other way around.

This talk is engaging and excellent. It gives hope for us that have to deal with difficult people sometimes, and for the people out there who don't always behave that well, it might teach you a thing or two. I love that it comes from a perspective of change, you haven't always been this way and you have grown - And others can too.

This is simply BRILLIANT! Well deserving of the five stars. The way you built the talk up with expectation management and then followed through with those expectations was great. You talked in a very clear way that was easy to follow. I love how you showed different ways to achieve it in PHP, and built your way into the way you'd recommend today, and how you ended up with your thoughts. A thought provoking talk, not only teaching generics - But also how to use them today.

Clear and engaging talk. I really love the way you built it up and how you presented the concept in an easy to understand way, keeping everyone interested along the way. I'd not change a thing.

I had high hopes for the presentation so maybe that's why I didn't feel it gave much to me. Maybe to understand better how to use resolvers or how to structure the code using GraphQL. Most of the talk was mentioning 3rd party documentation or tools and as someone already said it was kind of repetitive.
Maybe for next time focus more on the concepts and pros of GraphQL and less on libraries so people will want to use it more.
Good luck!

I usually find keynotes a bit lacking in useful info, but this one had some nuggets of good advice to take away, and Angel is a good speaker.

"And if I'm already not a dickhead then I didn't really gain anything."

I don't know about others, but It's clear to me that the second part of the phrase is 100% true, and the first part is not!
