This talk made me uncomfortable, perhaps deliberately.

As with all emotions it's truly hard to gauge if your reaction is too much or too little to any given input.

I suspect the talk was over engineered to solicit such a reaction.

Having spoken with both male and female colleagues it certainly seems to have been about a non issue in London.

I don't know. Maybe I'm too white and male.

This I do know - the best talk at phpuk16 was delivered by an aol employee that got the respect of everyone in that room.

I am here fulling out all of the comments diligently.
As Liam points out, it only takes 15 minutes to make a difference.

This has given me encouragement and ideas for how I can play a greater role in the community

Brilliant. Delivered like a true evangelist. Very inspiring and Michael took care to include personal examples of his use of automation for cool and fun things.

Loved the demo of the vim player, made my jaw drop a little :)

Awesome, tender approach to a common and often distressing syndrome that affects a lot of people.

Delivered with great humour, Jessica's personality really shone through.

A pleasure to hear. Great to chat afterwards too.

Great sense of humour. Good discussion of serious issues with open source community.

Was good to shake hands and say thank you to JordI for composer.

Sadly the rooms were too crowded to engage properly with this talk. I hope to see the video online later so that I can review properly. I think this should have been presented in the big room.

A good overview of Phake

I enjoyed the discussion on automated image compression and thought that there was a good taste of http2 also.

Talk seemed to be well thought out and brought good ideas to the table.

A very inspiring talk with a good discussion of machine learning techniques. I will definitely be taking a look into Bayes theorem.

I do think that diversity and equality are both important topics and given recent studies gender bias vs actual approvals on github, there is evidence to suggest that more could be done to address bias and diversity issues. I agreed with a lot of the themes within and will definitely check out the manifesto.

With that said. I felt that this talk was a little on the condescending side and had a general feel of "talking down" to the audience. Use of words like "vagina" when speaking in public seem unprofessional and aggressive, I felt that more tact could have been used in the delivery of the underlying message.
