I loved how engaging the speaker was, passionate and fun. The problem is that there was no real life examples which made the topic harder to understand. This talk would be amazing if the ideas weren't so abstract. I would love to hear this talk again, rewritten to have a real project behind it possibly, a real story and a flow.
Still thank you for your cool engaging talk and I got inspired to look more into FUNKEEEEH. :D
Great talk, great build up, good pace and examples.
Good presentation of a topic that can become very theoretic. I felt that the real-world check if the concepts lead to over engineering was too implicit. I would love to see more input on how to apply the concepts to real things, and when to follow these principles.
This talk almost brought a tear to my eye. It is very relatable. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and inspiring us in the best way possible, just like a keynote should do.
i liked having real world examples and see how cache tagging is a similar problem on very different layers of an application.
the talk can be improved by adding a bit of conceptual theory and explaining the terminology.
What an amazingly narrated story, I loved the theme! The music background went a bit wrong because the music was too loud, something to think about next time but not a big deal.
As someone who currently struggles to go trough our huge codebase I got inspired and left with a feeling that I can do this, and I can dig in. Thank you for inspiring me and making me think more positively about something I have been struggling with a lot lately, I really needed that and this talk was probably the most helpful talk for me this conference.
Also thank you for speaking clearly, projecting your voice well and articulating really really well so that we could understand your accent, it does make a big difference to me.
Did not enjoy the fact that you made my coworker climax multiple times during the talk and went to the bathroom for an hour after. Apart from that this talk was legendary and should be mandatory in every team. I am now off to build you a shrine.
Not getting code reviews makes me want to step up my game in organised crime too. Enjoyed the talk.
Oh... The way I could relate these sketches to actual people was funny. I love the narrative of the clips and they were chosen very well.
Thank you for closing off the Friday with so much laughter, it is just what I needed after a long day. :)
Congrats on giving your first ever talk.
I liked the subject of your talk: it's interesting for anybody using PHP, not only the Laravel users. You picked a few interesting patters and explained them well. Bonus points for touching on shiny new realtime facades.
Sometimes you were talking a bit fast. Probably because you know the concepts well (and maybe because you were a bit nervous). You could also make it easier for the audience to first give some practical examples before getting into the nitty gritty details of it.
Have fun improving this talk and giving it again at another usergroup or conference.
