Talk comments

The concept of the keynote was good and both Lorna and Ivo full of enthusiasm and presented well. I feel that it was down to the camera trying to keep Ivo in centre frame that caused people to notice the movement - maybe something to consider is next time to zoom the picture out a little, allowing the speaker to move about more freely.

A number of people have suggested that they were a little underwhelmed by the recommendations to eat/sleep well and exercise - of course this is good advice and everyone should be reminded to do it, but it may have been better to use some of the other "ways", which were perhaps in the book but not brought into the talk.

Overall it was a talk that allowed a nice, uncomplicated start to the day, though wouldn't have said it was particularly inspirational to me.

Not sure the format worked well enough (maybe ask & answer each one together), but this mostly reminded me that you can't assume anything in PHP.

And that some functions can return a huge variety of things depending on the build version shouldn't have surprised me quite the way it did...

Absolutely brilliant talk. Well refined and stuck to a great recurring theme.

Great case study, interesting talk, some information and practices that can be taken away into everyday despite the talk being about a very specific problem. Without sounding too much like a manager I would love to have seen some metrics on how effective the rebuild was in terms of $$$!

Great talk, really good to get into some OOP principles. I took a lot away from this. Bacon!

I enjoyed the "case study" nature to the talk, it was an interesting client and project. I don't really feel I know anything about Cilex or Skrillex but the takeaway of using the right tool for the job was certainly valid. Despite being a case study some code examples would have given the talk a bit more depth, and length!

Interesting talk, I was hoping to learn as a non-Symphony user how I could use the components on non-Symphony projects and this did help me with that.

Great talk, really well delivered.

Good food, and who can argue with free beer - especially with so much choice.

Split screen worked much better than I had thought it would. Fairly basic stuff, but useful to be reminded sometimes, and some good info too.
