Talk comments

I hardly dare say it again, but it was another excellent talk! (I've seen a couple more by Ross).
Complex concepts presented with a lot of style and flair; it had me laughing and captivated for the duration of the talk, even though it was at the end of a long day.
I would have liked even more of an in depth view of the code samples on the commands.

Lively and engaging presentation, simple introduction of complex topics. The best, easiest listening, talk of the whole weekend, well done!

Nice delivery style to this topic, enjoyed the content too - well rounded presentation, something for everyone.

Only slight criticisms, don't walk in front of your slides as much & test the audio from laptop output before the session.

Ansible is a great tool, given I'm already a user I was simply curious as to which features you were going to keep in / leave out - you didn't disappoint - well rounded introduction, including the live demo. Personally I would have had one element that showed parallelisation - spin up 3 VMs, provision them all :)

I always enjoy your pace and style of delivery in this size of audience, well done.

Clearly you know your subject matter and can plan a presentation, however you didn't take your audience with you very well - you were facing your own slides talking away from your audience far too much to be considered engaging. That combined with me ending up playing 'erm' bingo meant I was quite distracted by your presentation style.

The good news, this can all easily be fixed with more practice :)

This was one of the most interactive sessions of PHPNW 2013. Apart from the fun of the quiz, got to know about how cruel data comparisons can be in PHP if not paid attention at the installed version. Good job by the speaker!

As I said in person, perhaps in future have a handout listing the 'use' namespace statements, as I saw so many people struggling to keep up with which components where from which path in the hierarchy.

Generally well delivered overall, it's clear you know your topic.

Nice approach to the problem of having 10+ folk doing work together on your laptop, however you should have scripted that so you can cope with additional people attending. Plan for the unexpected.

As others have said time was wasted early on, leaving pregnant pauses and losing your audience, you pulled it back but left too little time to do justice to the later material.

Given I know the circumstances prior to the session, I'll simply say well done, I enjoyed it overall!

I'm a huge advocate of event-driven systems like this so this was exactly the sort of thing I wanted to see. A (recorded as) live demo would have driven the point home a bit harder.

Very good talk, both Ian and Maindy got their points across very well. It was interesting to discover some of the things that would have to be completed differently from running a PHP application within a normal web server.

It has certainly inspired me to give the platform a try in the future.
