Some of the stuff at the start seemed obvious to me (invariant protection) but I'd not come across the concept of specification classes and I was thrilled to learn something new that's so simple and easy to implement.
I almost asked whether there was a noticeable overhead with instantiating so many objects (value objects, specification objects, etc) but my learned colleague pointed out that this is no longer a big issue with PHP 5.5 so it might be worth mentioning that.
Very much enjoyed this one. Nice bits of humour to hold it all together and keep it light whilst delivering genuinely useful tips. I've worked with agile and user stories but was unfamiliar with INVEST so that was good to learn about.
Whilst it was an interesting talk I didn't really take anything away from it. It was essentialy a case study but the only lesson was "use the right tool for the job" which we hopefully all know anyway. That said, the speaker was very engaging and the subject matter itself was interesting and unusual enough to hold my attention.
Good talk overall, didn't break any new ground but made me consider using events more frequently. The speaker was a little monotone and lacking enthusiasm but he did say he had just stepped off a flight so it may just have been that.
I liked this talk even though I don't really have much use for it. Entertaining with lots of info.
I would suggest that you work on your opening. Today's was basically 3 minutes of rambling about nothing and you would really want to use the first 3 minutes to open with a bang. Explain what you are going to teach and use it to get the audience to want to listen to the other 47 minutes. Introducing yourself comes after that and explain why you are the person that is the expert and the audience should trust you.
One of my favorites. The speaker was quite nervous but the talk was very informative - I've used Guzzle but still learned several things from this session.
Really enjoyed this talk, loved the bits of humour. Given with passion and enthusiasm.
Splitting the talk between two speakers worked well. Talk itself was somewhat interesting, nothing mind-blowing but a good warm-up.
Excellent talk, I learnt a lot from this, it was also really enjoyable.
Interesting talk, well delivered. Was nice to get an insight into how a big company solves their performance issues. I think the approach is a little extreme for most and may come at the cost of easily readable, maintainable code but when speed is everything I can see it being useful.
