Great talk!

Good talk about the challenges of growing a project. Mitch was enthusiastic about the subject and gave good examples of how a project can grow and considerations that come along with growth. At times he spoke a little too fast, and I would have liked to have less focus on how the site and game worked and instead more on the challenges. Overall it was a good talk that was probably most interesting to Magic players but applicable to developers in general.

This was a great talk to jumpstart your API creation.

Really helps you dodge some common pitfalls to get you started faster.

Great talk by Anna on APIs. The first third or so was a refresher on API basics, but then the rest went deeper into good tips and tricks that were applicable. The real world examples were also helpful to hear and learn from her vast experience. Great talk.

Great talk by Davey on the history of PHP features, new things in PHP 7.1, and what is yet to come. I enjoyed the code examples to compare old from new. The Q&A at the end was also excellent and Davey answered questions thoroughly and with a deep understanding of the subjects. Great talk!

This was a great primer into some features that I didn't know about. I remember reading the MySQL 3.23 docs cover to cover as I was first getting started with MySQL... I haven't read through them again since, so very little of this was on my radar. I'm very excited for MySQL 8 now!

This was a good overview of JOSE. I have more questions now than I had before, but now I have a starting point for building my API with security.

So totally am going to change the way I do certain things in my applications. Lorna made this very easy to understand how to implement this from both sides, and the best way to handle these in large environments. She is an excellent speaker!

By far this was the best talk of the conference for me. I was expecting only to hear about creating an endpoint for receiving POSTs from an existing system (i.e. GitHub), but I was pleasantly surprised to hear about how to create a webhook for others to receive. Lorna did a great job of presenting the right way (and highlighting some of the wrong ways) to build on both sides of webhooks.

Bonus points for mentioning two great tools (ngrok and RequestBin) and for the live demo.

I thought that Tracy did an amazing job giving an overview of basic design principles, especially when talking to coders and folks that don't typically spend as much time with design as we feel more comfortable playing with code. I look forward to her next discussion tomorrow, and will definitely check out her books. Thanks again for all the resources too! Great job!
