I've seen Samantha keynote multiple times, and this may very well be my favorite. The engaging presentation style, the repetition of key points, and the color coordination of what/why/who/how worked really well.
Great intro to accessibility and good discussion of tools (including free). Brought up good points to consider.
Really enjoyed the talk. Lots of information to take back to the office.
I particularly appreciated the discussion on managing "resources" and how that really relates to managing not just people by the money they're paid.
"The company can't love you."
I ended up spending most of my day in BoF sessions, these were a great addition to the conference!
Another great conversation!
This was a great talk that covered a lot of the things I wasn't aware that Apache was capable of these days.
I would not have expected this to be a keynote, however — the talk was a very technical dive into what's new in the latest versions of Apache.
Funny talk! I now get "Mongo DB is web scale" :p
I found the talk to be insightful. I've always been interested in immutability but struggled with how to deal with database entities. I guess I've always assumed it was an all or nothing prospect. Your distinction between value objects and entities really helped clarify that for me.
The presentation was easy to follow as well. I found your speaking style to be clear and not too fast. The slides were clear for the most part and not too cluttered. I'm not sure if the zooming in and out was a good thing or not. The effect was cool, but the motion was a bit distracting. Maybe instead of that, you might consider showing the overall code on an initial slide, then separate slides that focus on the part you wish to speak on? It's basically the same thing, but maybe the absence of the motion would help the viewers focus on what matters? Not that I'm an expert or anything... Just thinking out loud :)
Great job, lots of things to think about and take away from your talk. One suggestion is make your text a little bigger and color contrast for those of us without the greatest eyes.
