Great talk, Adam. Thank you. This talk complemented Cal's opener very well.
This talk made me realize that I was definitively the DevOps guy at my tiny company. That fact alone made it worth attending. I didn't read the abstract before attending though, so most of the talk was me sitting there saying to myself, "Yup, that's what I'm doing....Yup, did that on my first day there....Yeah, BT;DT...." etc
This was a bit more basic than I was expecting, but that is all on me, not Joe at all. Like I said, I didn't read the abstract.
All in all, the stories and lessons-learned were very valuable for people thrust into the role of DevOps, or eager to transition into it from developer status.
Very inspiring talk. The romp down memory lane was impressive. There were times that it seemed to ramble or meander a little but everything was brought to a very poignant ending. I can't think of a better way to have ended this talk at all ... unless maybe it was with a little more gusto and oomph...but the wording was exactly perfect.
Thank you all for the feedback. I am planning on building out a more advanced version of this talk that would go into more depth with using Xdebug for both Profiling and for exploring unfamiliar codebases. I apologize if my energy seemed on the low side. I think I can agree that I was a little off. I'm sorry for that.
Awesome talk and took plenty away from it even if it was the 2nd time I've seen it. It goes to show that even the smallest OS contribution that served as scratching you own itch can lead to greater things.
Very technical (possibly maybe too technical?) but enjoyable as I always love to see what challenges others are coming up against and how they solve them.
Really enjoyed this talk and opened my eyes to a lot of things that are going on in my own work life at present that I had been ignoring. Has inspired me to make big changes, thanks Chris
Perfect closing for an awesome conference. Was a shame you had a cancellation, but I am selfishly glad you did. Otherwise I would of missed out on a truly inspirational talk.
Thank you for the killer conference!
Pretty good information about organizing tests and various techniques involved! I might have to give codeception another try.
It was wonderful to learn the basics of design from these two. This talk covers a lot of material, from layout grid rules and when/why to break them, to color choices, to fonts. It was great to learn how the choices made at each of these steps has a very real impact on how a site is received by its visitors. Cathy and Kevin have a depth of knowledge that never fails to amaze me.
