Talk comments

Thanks for the comments folks. It's obvious now that more in-depth technical examples should've been included and I apologize if you felt your time wasted at the conference and thank you for attending. I appreciate the constructive criticism and again invite you to step up to the mic, yourselves (especially you, ANONYMOUS ;).

Great as usual. Amazing command of the subject. All live demos and makes it look simple. Great sense of humor. A real gift!

Great job squeezing this topic into 60 minutes. Very inspiring. Already ordered a copy of the Evans on Amazon.

Very practical session, but you are so charming, I would have stayed and listened to you just read the change log :-)

I appreciate that you were selective with a point of view, rather than trying to be encyclopedic. The tip the E_DEPRECATED is all we need to pre-flight our 5.3 apps gave me the nudge I needed (we always develop with either E_ALL or E_STRICT).

As you suggest, the performance improvement alone is probably reason enough to make the switch for us, since we know we aren't using any deprecated stuff.

Also didn't know that ZF2 was already traits-enabled; getting rid of some boilerplate with \Zend\EventManager\ProvidesEvents was nudge #2.

And love the session upload variable. That was #3.

I'm still skeptical about the web server, so we'll see if it becomes a common tool for me. I just run tons of vhosts and since you have to edit the hosts file anyway to make good use of the built-in web server, I think I'd rather keep my dev environment a Zend Server, but I'll keep an open mind, promise.

The topic was nicely distilled. I appreciate that you were selective ( although I do think annotations are a bit under appreciated, particularly if using Doctrine). Great slides/examples, and really good stage presence. Charming sense of humor.

PS: I love the *idea* of Daily Jotter, although after thinking I was so clever for storing the files in Dropbox, really haven't used it any more once I discovered that Dropbox sync stomps on the files. Went back to BBEdit for jotting my text notes in Dropbox :-(

Thanks for your contributions to ZF2, and the great new TreeRouteStack. I think you could direct people to the documentation for the Router classes you are not as fond of, and really focus on the ones you like instead. I think probably more examples (use cases) to go with each class would really help.

The Router is really powerful, but it's hard to connect the dots if someone hasn't used it before. So maybe a bit more time in the beginning on the high-level explanation about how urls, vs Routes, and perhaps even connect the dots with Navigation and other components that use the Router.

Great job on the talk. I hope you update your dispatch process diagram. I made a tinyurl for it in May to keep track of it. http://tinyurl.com/zf2-dispatch-process

talk was live demos only, no slides :-)

Nice presentation. I kind of feel like I watched an episode of the X-Files. It was entertaining and answered one question, but made a hundred more. I know this is a large topic to cover in an hour, but I was hoping of more answers.
