Great talk! I do think the 60 minute format did a bit of a disservice. I can totally see where you can go into incredible amounts of detail on both the requirements collection and then code implementation aspects.
Hook this man up to some oxygen! I was afraid he was about to pass out from all the information he gave out within a short amount of time. Kidding aside... this was a great talk. I might not throw AS much information out there next time, but it was informative. I took from the talk some very useful information. I can't wait to dive into the slides and really learn.
I hadn't heard much about DDD before this talk, so some of the concepts might have been over my head. It seems like DD is just a framework for:
A) Gathering requirements from the client(aka - domain manager)
B) Writing code to meet those requirements
Is that accurate?
@Bill - 2 suggestion:
1) You sounded knowledgeable about the topic area throughout your presentation, however you established instant credibility with me at the end when you revealed the books you had authored. Mentioning that at the beginning of your talk to establish more credibility at the outset should help participants that don't know you to trust you and your message
2) The presentation was a bit dry. Maybe it was the subject matter or my lack of deep interest in it, but I couldn't feel your passion for DDD
I was worried this would be too basic for the first few minutes; but then Jeff really went advanced on us which was quite nice. Just enough visibility into some cool tools for us to go out and research on our own -- which is really the point and value in these talks. Best talk so far, very informative.
Nice to see the new stuff, good work. Informative talk.
Good talk but felt like some of the areas where rushed through.
Good talk. Showed me some of the areas I am lacking in my testing.
Good introduction to Zend\Db 2.0.
