Alan did a very good job at covering a lot of performance tools available to the IBM i community
Great session, very funny and informative. I've used PHPUnit a bit in the past, and I'm at the very beginning stages of introducing unit tests to a legacy app with almost zero tests. Very helpful strategies for devs in my situation.
Enjoyed the music. Excited to hear about Apigility.
Very accessible to me as a ZF1 dev looking to get into ZF2. Appreciated the live coding exercises. Evan did a good job of explaining the event system and the ZF2 module idiom. Too bad it couldn't be a six hour session so we could get into some of the other details, I'm especially interested in leaning about the new zend form system.
Because I come from heavy experience of using ZF1, I was trying to use my understanding of the modules concept from ZF1 to ZF2. This talk has shown me the error of that thinking and now that I understand Evan's thought process for modules in ZF2, I can rethink my strategy for rewriting my ZF1 applications into ZF2. Thank you Evan!
Beginning through middle was interesting and engaging. Flagged a bit towards the end. I felt the portions on continuous delivery weren't well organized and lacked direction. It was hard to be engaged during the demo of deployment on zend server- the important parts of the interface weren't visible.
The quick demo of apigility was very well done, showed off important aspects of how the tool can help developers, seemed to be accessible to veteran API devs and those of us (like me) with little to no experience writing them. It cemented my decision to attend Matthew's apigility session.
Great new toolset for the PHP developers , very interesting...
