Talk comments

Fantastic information. I went in to this talk because I *hope* to one day be a hiring influence and walked out knowing some tricks and tips I can apply today. Highly recommended even if you don't want to be a hiring manager.

This speaker discussed a chatbot creation as well as the other items listed. I thought they did a better job than the presenter doing the "chatbot" talk. This speaker covered more ground and provided some interesting videos showing the process at work.

Live demos are risky. Doing a live demo for your entire presentation is impossible unless you truly understand the content and have rehearsed it before, which David clearly did. I would strongly recommend this presentation for anyone looking to learn the basics of TDD.

This was a really good talk and could easily be 5 stars with just a little refinement of the live demo. For example:

1. Try using PhpStorm's presentation mode - it "zooms in" the entire UI, not just the code editor, making it easier to see the debug panels.
2. See whether you can have just one demo file to debug. When new code is shown, developers immediately try to read and understand the new code instead of paying attention to what you're saying.
3. Rehearse the live demo many many times, and then do it again.

Nevertheless, I think the amount of content was perfect and I really enjoyed the delivery.

I've seen this talk once (maybe even twice?) before and love it every time Samantha gives it.

Everything about this talk was perfect - the content, the delivery, being prepared for live demo issues, etc.

While I loved Federico's enthusiasm and stage presence, this felt more like a standard session than a keynote. I usually expect a closing keynote to touch on the overall themes of the conference and challenge the attendees to go forth and apply what they've learned for the betterment of others - this was more like a light retrospective on being bought out. It's not a bad subject, just not one I'd expect as a closing keynote.

It also felt like the more-relevant topics (like licensing and code ownership) were glossed over - I would've liked to hear more details and heard specific advice on how to avoid or work through the same issues Federico's team faced.

It was interesting to see the types of rare and arcane issues that Jordi and Composer have faced.

I wanted to hear this talk but the speaker was over 10 min late and I left.
