Great content, but I can’t help feeling like having a straight, white, cisgendered man give this talk feels contrary to “speak up, not over” rule
A great intro to GraphQL, though the switch to live coding was disruptive and harder to follow than the introductory slides
Great talk from a perspective we don't often hear from.
Great talk. Lots of great info and just the right amount of math to get people started without getting bogged down in too many details.
There was a lot of great info in here. I think the presentation can be a lot smoother, by moving code and examples into the same tool as the slides, because a lot of time was spent on switching applications and fixing display issues.
I also think a better definition in the beginning of exactly what GraphQL is, and some examples of using it would have been helpful at the beginning, because I think the audience was still confused about what they would use GraphQL for - maybe an example of a FE app actually using it vs a REST API and showing how much easier it is for them to request the different data they want using GraphQL over REST.
This keynote covered such an essential topic, and I loved how Clarissa challenged us to be better. The examples were easy to relate to, and I also appreciated her including accessibility features in the talk.
Thank you so much for sharing, Samantha. The openness and honesty is needed right now, we have to all start talking about this stuff more.
This was really interesting, and covered a lot of stuff that was completely new to me. I could definitely have benefited from a little more intro to certain terms at the beginning.
I have used the Symfony Process component a lot so I was excited to see that bit covered, it's such a great library to make this sort of work easier. I'm going to have to check out some of the other tools Ian covered.
Thank you for sharing your story!
Deployment is a headache for everyone, really great info
