The perfect ending to an excellent event!
Loved everything about it. I was surprised to find out that your bad review was at another talk I attended at PfCongress 2012. Also a very good talk! I do remember reading that comment and just thinking it must have been written by someone who slept throught the talk.
The quotes of the other speakers were also a very nice touch and a way for us to look back at 3 excellent days
Very interesting. Not something I was expecting at all at Laracon. Still not sure if any of it will really help me in any way in future. But still very interesting.
Good talk. I did get lost along the way sometimes. Perhaps because I have very little experience with TDD, never mind BDD. But you got your points across excellently and I've learned a lot.
Very good talk! Actually learned something about myself as well. I too have been unconsciously biased before. That's something I will be more alert to in the future.
I wanted to react to the first question from the audience but couldn't really find a way to word what I had in my mind at the time. But I guess what it all comes too is that we should all take the individual into account. It's about the sum of the parts and not the parts in itself. It's not about being male or female, Black or white etc.. These things in itself carry no weight but together they result in an individual. And that complet e picture is what makes someone right or wrong for a job for example.
Does that make any sense? Hope so :)
Rafael! I absolutely love seeing you speak on stage!
I was at pfcongress a few years ago and loved that talk, but I think this talk was even better.
Still not sure about annotations, but the talk was excellent :)
Overal a good talk. I found it hard to follow sometimes without slide to help. At first I was afraid you'd lose me in the first few minutes, but I quickly got caught up in the excellent narrative.
Still.. Next time, use the slides. Perhaps use a blank one for the parts were you want us to visualize without code ?
What a great end to the conference. I once gave a similar presentation to second year cs students about (all) the stuff I've learned (I'm 28 right now) so I could relate to a lot of stuff you have said. You're a great speaker and got me interested the whole talk. Great work Ross!
A (for me) difficult topic very well explained!
Absolutely brilliant! I love what your doing with Laravel. Love Socialize ( Slightly mad, because I was planning something similar ;) )
The folder structure needs some getting used to, but for the most part I do see the benefits.
To those who want more detail (only so much I can do in an hour :)) - I'll be putting up a more thorough series of validation from multiple perspectives, including what Taylor Otwell touched on with his talk about upcoming features.
Thanks heaps to all who left feedback - I'll definitely be taking it all onboard for future talks. Will try and slow down some more as well! hehe :)
Thanks again and glad you all could make it. What a great conference! :D
