Very insightful talk about a very significant problem that plagues our industry. Starting small with a bigger goal in mind is definitely the way to go when trying to refactor any moderate-to-large size code base. It reduces risks and gives a more immediate feed back on what works and what does not.
I enjoyed the thorough explanation of the domain and then light introductions into the different concepts of machine learning.
Really hate that I missed this one. It was a tough choice between this and the other speaker that was at the same time. Although I really enjoyed the other talk, I really wish I could have heard this one too. Are there videos of this anywhere?
This talk was definitely the most fun of any I attended. I felt like it was a bit of a sales seminar but I learned a lot and came out excited. We maintain numerous IVRs and are about to start texting information to customers so this talk really hit home.
I struggled to understand a lot of what was said. I left knowing I would never want to use MongoDB. Seemed like the whole talk revolved around how to get it to behave properly. Was nice of the speaker to give away books.
The talk was good. I avoid Javascript like the plague so I doubt I'll use any of this but it was nice to hear about it.
I liked that the speaker knew his stuff. I liked the idea of not assuming you have a problem and not assuming that you do. I loved that he stressed do one change at a time. Very good talk!
