Good oversight of how to use Custom Post types intelligently in a WordPress site (which is something I'm starting to dig into myself). The only thing missing from a developer point of view is how you manage, version, and deploy the definitions for a CPT.
Good case study of how to pay attention to user needs, identify pain points, and address them in a legacy application. I really liked hearing the actual impact Emily's team had on the process.
Another inspiring talk from somebody who has seen amazing lows, then amazing highs. Thanks for coming all the way from Europe to our conference.
I almost did not go to this as I thought it would not be that interesting. But it was anything but... Nara provided a lot of insights that were surprising. If you think about it, we are knowledge workers. Without being mentally happy, we are not of any value. Thanks for putting this together.

Agree with anonymous. Of course in a world of unlimited resources the speaker's points are very valid. But when you factor in limited staff time/resources along with many clients demanding applications they can make simple updates themselves then custom coding for each project is unrealistic.
Maybe the speaker did not intend it but I also had the perception that it was CMS bashing. I am sure she is a very talented developer but the industry is moving towards CMS's to meet client needs. I feel like more time could have been spent on how to effectively and safely use these products rather than flat out saying don't use.
Everything comes with risk, as IT professionals our mission is to mitigate those risks, not bury our head in the sand. By the logic used in this presentation then why wouldn't we all just develop our own operating systems? Many of the issues she covered for CMSs are the same.
Overall I thought the speaker was very knowledgeable, maybe I just missed the point. But I know I'm not the only one that felt this way.

Very inspiring talk and I learned so much about how the community impacted Michelangelo's career. However, at times I wasn't sure why he was sharing some tidbit. I think it'd be more powerful if there were lessons learned or calls to action along the way instead of all at the end.
