Talk comments

I really enjoyed the whole tutorial. It was really great to have a chance to not only go over the material in-depth, but also to go over *how* to go over material you aren't familiar with in particular. Specifically, I liked seeing the examples and going over all of the "why"s behind everything. The style and class of topic (fundamentals) are both things I would *really* love to see more of in the future.

Lots of great information, I think there is so much new that it was probably hard to fit everything in one presentation (glad that there are two!)

A comprehensive look at many of the areas where Gutenberg will impact WordPress development. Great code examples.

I liked the format of this talk and ability to look at code samples while going through the reasons for each code refactor.

Chris is an engaging speaker. Having this as the first talk of the day laid a good foundation for why events like this are good for the PHP community.

As someone new to WordPress, this talk was very useful to see what is coming with the Gutenberg editor, what is still in motion and what still needs to be figured out/fixed before it is ready to hand off to users.
Thanks!

Great look at the history of open source. I would have liked more discussion of the PHP community and how it uses open source but overall there was a lot of valuable history to cover.

Chris gave an outstanding talk about the history and importance of Open Source, and how the PHP language is fully supported by the Open Source mandate of making a language truly open. He also did a great job of compelling all of us to give back to the Open Source community and spread our knowledge so others can learn. Awesome talk!!
