Chris was very inclusive of the group - encouraging questions and solutions from the audience. This helped create a well-rounded presentation that included many different opinions. There isn't one "best" way to do it; a lot depends a lot on your organization and the ones you're providing support for.
Entertaining and educational!
Whenever possible, use short pre-recorded videos, gifs on a slide, or annotated screenshots instead of live demos. There will always be unexpected problems (that seem to only happen because it's live) and you're stuck trying to fix it or work around it on the spot.
The session started with the thought that this is a problem for everyone and we'll all discuss solutions. Perhaps this format would have worked better as a BOF?
As a session, I would have liked to see more examples. What sorts of things did you try that weren't successful? In the interest of everyone in the room contributing their solutions, it might have been nice to make time to let the room discuss and showcase their own solutions, but I suppose that would introduce it's own set of problems.
Michelle is a great presenter. I attended a similar continuous integration talk by her 2 years ago and learned a lot then. Came out of this session with an even better understanding of where to go next.
Wes gave many great examples of theming in Drupal 8, changes since Drupal 7, and some things to look out for. I left the session feeling more prepared and excited to start a theme in Drupal 8 using Twig!
It was a great refresher of the basics and high level overview. I know there's only so much you can do in 30 minutes, but I really would have liked some more practical examples and demonstrations of the specific work/test/revision/test process that was followed.
Great way to start the camp!
