Talk comments

PRO:
- Fabulous topic -- relevant for me who works on WP (because of broad support, user-friendliness, and beautiful theme marketplaces) but occasionally grates at its limitations.
- John's Hopkins is very generous in its contributions of its work to the community. A fabulous example of open source leadership.
- Amazing use of humor and vivid imagery (flexible fat guy)

CON:
- Honestly can't think of any ...
- ... perhaps advice on which of your various wizardries might be the easiest and most valuable to foray into?

PRO:

- Demystifies and encourages rebase, paving the way for clean commit history
- Liberated us from weird dogmas ("Everyone must use GitFlow")
- At some point in the future, when clean commit log matters bigtime, I will be glad to have seen this talk and will boldly venture into rebase.

CON:

- Perhaps should have been titled "How to not be terrified of Rebase, in the interest of a clean commit log" (or something like that)
- In other words, it didn't feel like a holistic look accross Git/GitHub...
--- I don't feel that it left me as someone who better understand the whole and depth of something I already knew.

PRO:

- Visuals were great! (this is what good and bad database structure looks like)
- Subject matter is very valuable and applicable.
- I already feel myself being better equipped for all development work ranging from MS Access to mySQL custom apps.

CON:

- Initial slides contained no images or example tables, and had only a title word, and I can't remember what any of them were. (You can tell I'm a visual learner)

Very good talk. Good content that EVERY IT manager/Team Lead should be exposed to.

As an independent developer, I am the chief cook and bottle washer. Both back end and front end development has always been my responsibility.

I am one of the older dudes who had to force himself to abandon tables and use css for site layout. Seem the kids these days have no idea how difficult that was!

Now, it seems, laying out the front end is child's play!

Thanks for the talk!

Excellent talk. As a single developer, I never realized there are more hats than meet the eye!

Thanks for the info.

I have ignored OS before now. Your talk inspired me to learn git and then contribute!

Great overview. Looking forward to beginning to implement this.

Loved the sand castle example. Too often, I start with the 3rd floor and have a mess before I'm through.

Thanks for the overview, Glen! I have a lot to learn on cloud storage. The RS discount will go a long way to get me there!
