Talk comments

Talk went better than expected. Generally speaking some of the talks that are completely command line can get really boring really quick w/ a lot of waiting. Not in this case! Speaker was well prepared, commands were typed in quickly and effectively, size of the screen was set just right and made sure everybody could see right in the beginning.

As far as the content of the talk, it was right on queue. Most of the beginning talk were git basics and I was eagerly awaiting some of the more advanced features towards the end. When they came they were very helpful and his examples were very realistic.

Definitely a talk that I could take some things away from.

great job - concise and practical advice. it all looks so darn easy...

I was disappointed because from the description I thought this talk would have more information about how to develop cloud-based apps, but it had basically nothing on that. Instead it was only an overview of cloud-based tools. David was able to prove his point that apps can be entirely delivered in the cloud by using only cloud-based apps to give his talk, but after not too long the gimmick wore off and it slowed the talk down to wait for commands to be typed, sites to be loaded, and tests to be run.

Very informative and interesting, and easy to see how to apply the recommendations to sites much smaller than etsy. Thanks!

Not being much of a front-end developer/designer, I found this workshop really helpful. I'm looking forward to bringing a little more beauty (and sanity) to my projects. Jen is a great teacher, and her experience shows. I also think the way the files were setup was really excellent.

Talks like this, that overview a lot of content, can be hard to keep interesting, but Johnathan managed it. Just enough depth. I really liked that he shared the specific tactics that Etsy took, often with metrics.

This was a fabulous and useful presentation about something that's a hard to do well. I learned lots of new useful information.

Overall, good presentation, especially considering it was her first time speaking. Presenter was comfortable, deflected hecklers with ease, and provided good visual aids.

In general, the talk was probably better suited to devs who had little to no knowledge with responsive/ adaptive/agnostic web development. Additionally, I suggest she check out some of the documentation and benefits of applying relative widths and font sizing (using ems and rems) instead of fixed pixel values in CSS media queries.

Excellent presentation - speaker was comfortable, humble, and provided tasteful visual aids. He covered a diverse range of topics related to SVG graphics and JS, all without claiming his team's approach was the best (or only, or even recommended) way to go about accomplishing the goal. In my opinion, this is part of what made te talk stand out - he made it apparent from the start that his presentation was a unique approach to a customer's requirements.
