Fantastic talk for developer who have little to no knowledge of DB Design. Scott is very clear, has good pacing, and the personal aspect of "why" was a nice touch that allowed me to get more honed in so that I don't make the same mistakes in my workplace!
Great presentation. Steve seemed to has a really clear picture of who his audience was and nailed it. Kept things technical without getting too lost in the weeds which can be a hardline to draw!
Good talk that was very technical about the implementation of Serde and how serialization/unserialization works internally. Larry is extremely knowledgeable about the topic, which showed in his expert subject matter talk. The code snippet slides were informative and helpful, and Larry was well prepared for the talk.
I would have liked to have had more context on when I should use serialization and real world use cases. The mention about API versioning was a good real world use case when mixed with Attribute scopes.
Overall a great talk and I learned new things for me to take away and try out.
This was a great talk, and well put together. The flows between some other new features in PHP, such as property hooks was also a useful thing to see.
My only annoyance was the use of ligatures in code examples.
Lot's of great practical knowledge.
Nice practical knowledge.
Thank you for the talk. This was a fun way to get a better understanding of how to deal with this type of problem (which is a problem we have at a much smaller scope) and there are at least a couple of things I'm going to bring back to my team.
My only suggestion is to make the screenshots bigger my poor eyesight had trouble reading them.
I think this is the third time I've seen this talk and it's always thought provoking.
Can’t wait to try some of this!
Learned a ton that I will definitely be using when I get back to work
