Talk comments

Great talk, very entertaining and a good refresher not to forget about the users.

Very good talk. Lots of new tools to pick up and look at at. Nicely delivered and entertaining.

A very good summary and overview of tools/libraries/component that might be useful in a day to day job. Knew some of them already, but there were things I will definitely have a look at. I do agree the talk was a bit flat at moment, but I got the point.

Very good talk, I always learn new things for this. Yes you could find it in manual, but it is also a good refresher and you don't always have time to read the manual. Loved the examples!

Good keynote. Especially that I have experienced some of this "grumpy moods" myself. Things I would improve - slides, while I don't usually consider them very important a bit of "styling" and personalisation would help a lot. Also there was no clear conclusion. I have found my conclusion, especially after talking to Chris, but it would be good to have a key summary at the end.

A very good introduction to non-blocking I/O and event loops in PHP, as well as a good overview about reactPHP. One demo didn't work quite as expected, but that's always a risk with live demos under unknown network conditions. Bonus points for the Half-Life / Portal reference, extra bonus points for Pony.

I didn't attend the talk, but I have given talks on the CMF a few times alone or with David. One of the tricky challenges we have been facing is how to best get developers interested in the CMF. For a long time the introduction of new concepts like PHPCR and RDFa was met with so much skepticism especially when we didn't have much to show yet. So as we now have stuff to show, we started showing that more in the talks, reducing the time for the under the hood. Maybe we have however now reached a point where our architecture is met with less skepticism and rather more excitement (ie. our architecture is starting to be seen as an advantage rather than an unproven model). So maybe its time we focus our talk again on the architecture and letting people play with the sandbox demo (http://cmf.liip.ch) and their own? Of course it always depends on the people you end up sitting in the audience. Would love to hear the point of view on these considerations from some more people that attend the talk as well as all the people that have commented already. Thanks!

Note: I gave the talk a rating of 3 since I have to give a rating to give a comment.
