Absolutely fantastic - hands down the best keynote speaker. The talk was very motivating to continue involvement in the community and realistic in the addressing of different opinions. The portion of having the audience stand and then identifying contributions from those who hadn't was particularly touching. While I recall the speaker using it as a way to jump into organizing communities - I really also saw it as an anti-imposter syndrome exercise as well - kind of a way to show that all contributions matter regardless of whether you *think* it is worth noting.
Well organized and the speaker had a great sense of humor/flow. It was good for the general audience to see some of the ways things have changed from D7 to D8 especially given the timing of the conference.
This was a great overview. Initially I was expecting a bit more of a tutorial-style talk, but looking at the title of the talk the content made sense. It's always great to hear about the history and future of a project from it's creator/lead. That's some of the most valuable information from these types of conferences.
Very informative with just the right amount of back-story. I liked that the speaker included some details about full vs. partial implementations of PSR-7. Between that and the PHP-FIG overview of Larry Garfield I feel a much greater understanding now of the group and their goals.
One of the best talks I attended at the conference. Loved the speaker's style. The history was great for those of us who came by programming organically (no CS degree) and yet she somehow still got into some good current-day advice.
Very well done and in this case I really appreciated the live demo. I have already fired up compute instances to try and see how this platform will work for me where I currently use Turnkey Linux and AWS.
She's right. Programming does have more in common with Art than math! I enjoyed her speaking style. This talk was thought provoking and enjoyable.
Enjoyed this talk immensely. Eric really hit the nail on the head - as a PHP developer I still treat JS like a toy. As Eric pointed out due to its ubiquity, its a powerful tool that should be fully understood. I have not taken to the time to really study JS, so I did not know most of what was presented (such as differences in 'this' and associative arrays with PHP). Very helpful.
This talk was very helpful, I intend to include expose in at least one of my projects. I also appreciated Greg's help and efforts in the hacking open source night!
