Talk comments

It was just the right topic to begin the conference. Alex spoke from experience in a friendly, down-to-earth way. He adjusted his topics on the fly to accommodate the audience, which is difficult to do but very appreciated. I loved the examples of old code and "worst practices" which really highlighted how beneficial his recommendations were. Some of the terms and tools Alex discussed were new to me (or I'd only heard a bit in passing) so this talk helped me get more out of the other talks I attended.

I agree with the other commenter who suggested that he was at times too soft-spoken and would benefit from learning how to project his voice.

Great talk! Spoke and things he was sure off and admitted when something was out of his scope. Only recommendation is to watch the length of pauses.

GREAT TALK!! True beginners class, I left feeling very comfortable with my ability to learn more about RegEx.

While I did learn a few things about designing an API I really didn't learn how to actually create one. I'm sure that is because my skills were not at the right level to keep up. Nice talk but I wouldn't call it a true beginner class.

promising start, but ending the presentation after 30 minutes (of 60) without any explanation is a no-go.

Great class, a lot of information in a very short period of time.

Pros: The content was easy to follow and very useful.

Cons: A little too soft spoken sometimes.

Alex did a great job, and is willing to spend time discussing ideas after his talk.
