Great talk, provided a lot of useful information and suggestions.
Great talk. Covered all the concepts and gave some implementation examples.
I think Brandon hit a sweet spot between the number of concepts (or "sins") presented, and the amount of detail outlined to explain them. The flow of the talk was great, and the dynamics were quite good. Using this talk to wrap up the conference was spot-on.
While I do like rant-oriented talks, and appreciate the entertainment value of a well-placed rant-ish joke in a talk, I also like this to be balanced with enough proper, practical advice: while the form of this talk was near-perfect, and while Marco definitely gave some very valuable advice, at times that advice lacked substance and clarity.
I believe Marco can pull out much better examples, and much more concrete, actionable advice from his rich experience -- I definitely wouldn't mind him making less points throughout the talk, but with more rationale behind each of those.
Mathias is a very good speaker, but not even him could pull off doing an entire talk based on a single, relatively simple example, and a single slide. The topic itself is interesting enough, but quickly diverged into a very related, but not entirely identical concept of Value Objects. I think it could have benefited from a bit broader topic to reduce fatigue, and a couple of attention getters.
I found this to be an excellent, gentle introduction to Dependency Injection. The concepts were presented unpretentiously, and introduced very carefully. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this talk as an introductory tutorial for anyone starting out with DI.
Excellent overview of some core DDD concepts. The examples, although simplified, do a very good job of putting each of the principles in context, which is crucial for a better understanding of these. I'm looking forward to reviewing the slides!
Interesting talk covering various examples of bad coding practices, mostly tied to SOLID principles, and how to avoid them. It really shows that these come from the speaker's experience. Interesting and well presented.
Brandon seemed very comfortable in his role as a speaker and teacher. He presented the ideas clearly, kept a good rhythm and the 40 or so minutes just seemed to melt away. The talk taught me some pitfalls to look out for in my future endeavours, and I will hopefully be less likely to shoot myself in the foot.
A bit too narrow talk. I understand idea of showing SOLID in action, but it felt too much as a Sylius pitch to me.
