Great talk! I was slightly familiar with functional programming before the talk, but now I have a much better understanding. The slides and examples were great. I also really appreciated the speakers passion about functional programming.
Great information. The delivery was friendly, but moving around a bit might improve things a bit. "Object Oriented PHP" might have served as a more accurate title. Fantastic talk!
I missed the beginning of this talk but the half I did catch was super informative and very helpful. The slides were great and the step by step progression of the stack really helped me understand how to effectively implement a high availability and fault tolerant stack on AWS.

Completely worth every minute; Sara presents a tough topic with poise, clarity, and levity. No time to snooze; the hands on exercises woven throughout take you from watching to doing. Each immediately tied in what we'd learned. We all needed more time to finish; we're not as fast as she is. Next time be comfortable waiting, notably one of the hardest things to do in teaching. The PHP source drive-by at the end was so very valuable. Thank you!
A topic like this easily has the ability to lose the audience, but this speaker did a good job of keeping people engaged.

I've used Xdebug for many years now. That said, I learned things in this talk. Friendly, well organized, and clearly delivered. It's a treat to have Derick available to give this talk and answer questions.
