Definitely an interesting discussion. I think that it managed to cover all the important parts around PHP-FIG.
And Mihail did great as the moderator!
Well prepared and with good delivery. The examples were clear and easy to understand.
I appreciated the drawings and diagrams which made it easier to digest all the concepts.
I was already familiar with wp-cli but still learned quite a few things.
And 30+ minutes of live coding and demoing things is seriously impressive!
I also liked how she sprinkled a lot of different tips about WordPress, servers, linux etc. while showing something else.
So much knowledge from the weird parts of PHP packed in 40 minutes. What Alex is doing with PHP is amazing and I had quite a few "How is this even possible?!" moments during the talk.
I'd like to see a bit about how the AOP approach is different from for example middleware, which we discussed after the talk.
And I'd absolutely watch a talk only for things like the stream filters, modifying php from within php in runtime and all the black magic he is doing.
I knew what I was getting into before the talk and have already used PhastPress so for me it was interesting to learn more about the motivation and how it was developed.
The delivery was solid and Albert's easy going style makes even writing a custom html5 parser to sound fun which is great.
For me it's definitely a 5, but it would be nice to spend a little bit more time on the actual plugin and maybe add it to the abstract so it's clear that the talk is not about code optimisations.
The talk was entertaining but still delivered a great overview of common problems and some tips on how to protect ourselves.
Too bad it ended
Cal Evans knows how to make the crowd go wild :)
Great knowledge, great examples, although a bit monotonous voice while talking
Easy to follow while still packed with knowledge. It was interesting to see the thought process behind the different parts of ADR.
And the overal performance was great!
