Very impressive talk!!
Though I had to leave early (I wish I didn't have to) this was a great talk. I'm glad to see such importance given to indexes. This is a topic that could have easily went on a lot longer.
Great talk about the use of EXPLAIN and certainly if anyone's read the mysql docs a lot better organized. She did talk a bit fast in some areas, but She's got a lot of knowledge to share. Certainly it was appreciated (heck I sighed up for the MySQL meetup group to get more!!)
This was a great talk. Dave thanks for taking my question about splitting databases. I know thats not an easy question to answer, just as there's about 80 ways to skin a cat (maybe more!!) The information provided was great, I like to hear what Oracle is doing for the MySQL database as I find I'm working there more than Oracle!!
I guess what some have missed is that its 101 security so of course for some it will be basic. I'm cool with basic, sometimes thats the best place to start. Aside from some microphone issues, I think the talk was good. There were a few things that went over my head but then again I don't claim to be a whizbang php developer.
Good work. Sheeri taught an old dog a new trick or two. It was well worth the time to attend.
Great talk and validates the work that I've been doing on my sites... like the warm feeling that you're on track with addressing such an important topic!
Very helpful and timely as I'm preparing to work on a desktop to mobile conversion and Mike's presentation gave me a leg up on that job!
Sheeri is an industry professional. I believe she could sell ice at the North Pole. Bringing event control inside the database saves a lot of work. The jury is still out on this feature and I believe it is not quite ready for mission critical usage. However I'm motivated to do more than kick the tires on this new feature.
