I enjoyed this presentation a lot, and David was able to answers difficult questions seemingly designed to be "gotcha" type of questions. He was clear that Semantics is a fuzzy practice. He also gave us insight into the schema.org pages, which will becoming increasingly more important in the future.
Interesting talk. Hearing the experiences of a developer thinking about UX and working with UX professionals was very valuable.
The workshop was a success. We coded in groups and by the end of the 3 hours everyone had scraped a site and presented their work. JavaScript knowledge was helpful but not required for the team project work. More review of DOM traversal techniques would have been nice. The workshop description should suggest installing node.io in advance, but Mark showed those of us with install problems a fast and easy way to get running in the cloud. A few pages of handouts with instructions and code would work better than PowerPoint slides for this type of workshop format. Mark knew his stuff and clearly explained how everything worked.
Great talk - entertaining, practical and informative. I learned a lot, look forward to implementing some of it!
Great talk, just the right amount of depth and delivered on time.
Well thought out talk with some great fundamental ideas and some light-hearted moments. I felt bad for the presenter since her talk was in the last possible slot, so many in the audience were a bit on the tired side.
Really well done. Funny, informative and useful. A great reminder to all the programmers in the room that their work doesn't have to look crappy if they put a wee bit of effort into it.
Lots of great details made for a great talk. Even if you're not running a multi-sharded world scale eCommerce site, there were some takeaways.
Good talk, explained most things very well. looking forward to reviewing the slides
Good talk from a first time speaker giving a beginner-level presentation. Her speaking style was accessible and fun. She presented interesting examples and managed the crowd well.
