It was nice and useful. However, I found it too short and hoped to learn in more depth about examples using traits.

I found the topic interesting and I could use in my current job as we have been facing issues with slow AJAX. Overall, enjoyed the talk.

A great intro/refresher which also mentioned quite a few other things for the audience to review afterwards (DAGs, ASTs, Markov chains, graph DBs, nested sets). I feel it balanced breadth and depth of coverage well.

This was a life-altering talk. Thank you so much for sharing.

Cal has mastered the art of pronouncing unpronounceable acronyms! I didn't hear him emulate the sound of the 300bps modem he talked about, but I too remember the days of the BBS and writing BASIC on the good ol' C=64.

Cal spoke from practical experience, offering good advice for both novice and pro ... covering not only the tech stuff to be mindful of, but also the values of honesty and integrity which lay a framework for successful relationships *and* successful projects.

Cal has an enthusiastic and lighthearted presentation style, abundantly littered with bad jokes and lessons learned from the road well-traveled.

-------
(Note to Cal: you seemed to do a bit of extra reading-from-presenter-notes, which I haven't noticed you do so much before; while you do it in a way that isn't awkward I did find it a bit distracting because I felt you disconnect from us slightly when you did that.)

I missed this talk, but the hallway buzz and the discussions I had with others who saw the talk left me wishing I'd been there. People have told me things like: "I hadn't considered graphs before, but now that I get what they are, I feel like I have not only the awareness but enough knowledge now to give it a try on a current project that is a perfect fit.", and also "Chris really helped me see it from a perspective I didn't have before, and he was really enthusiastic in his presentation."

So, ya, I'm sorry I missed it!

I appreciated how Andrew brought his experience with React to this presentation. He showed both the theory and the implementation of how to integrate it with PHP. There was a discussion of tools to help make the integration more smooth, as well as the pros/cons of each.

I unfortunately had to step out of the talk about half-way through, so didn't get to see the end. I don't know if it happened but I was hoping that there might be a live demo showing implementation of some of the code samples given during the talk.

The presentation style Terrance used for this talk was very effective. Not only did he provide a wealth of practical advice and actionable strategies, but he also delivered it with an energy and enthusiasm that left me firmly believing that I could strategically effect change. I felt equipped with tools and insights, and an awareness of the mindset to embrace if I want to be an effective agent of change ... both at work and outside work.

I look forward to future talks Terrance gives!

I liked it. Great intro. Example was good at taking theory and making it concrete.

Enthusiastic talk about a subject that is often overlooked. Excellent blend of humor and facts. Well structured talk. Fantastic.
