It's great you were actually live coding and accepting the occasional mistake. These actually made it stick better. SCSS is a concept we were definitely missing in CSS. Thank you very much for sharing this.
Good talk. Very well explained. Relaxed presentation style. And I agree with Rick that you could do a workshop on the subject.
Same thoughts here. I liked most of the beers. It was an interesting selection and I actually learned something.
I would recommend to choose a different place to do an event like this, like a brown cafe and like Michelle said, there should definitely be room to actually socialize.
This is a great tutorial, especially because it connects two non trivial exercises: REST and a little more advanced usage of ZF 2. Thanks for answering my questions and clearing up some misunderstandings I had.
The only recommendation I have would be to keep the REST introduction and the general introduction to ZF 2 shorter in order to be able to actually do the hands on part. Still this was a very enjoyable workshop and you explained really well.
Very smoothly presented workshop. Elaborate slides and a very experienced speaker who really knows what he's talking about. The discussions were interesting and the fact that we had so many of them was of great value.
It gave me more insight as to why testing doesn't really take off if essential preconditions aren't met by the organization.
I had however expected a tutorial style workshop that related more closely to the developers' everyday life. This was in some respects more of a promotional talk for an improved model invented by the speaker and his organization that could not yet be disclosed. It will be hard to take something home from this that can actually be used immediately, but it surely was food for thought.
Beer, good company and Cards Against Humanity. It's the perfect storm for a conference social. Other conferences take note.
BEER!
What can I say? Are you sure, Ross, that you only got the call to give this talk 2 days before?
We already use Redis as a key/value store, but now I realise we should be using it for so much more. The content was excellently structured and perfectly delivered. I laughed out loud a lot.
The only thing better than this talk is tentacle porn.
Incredible view and amazing fun people! I had a great time and the best of all is that I (barely) won a card game!
A big thank you to all organizers! You really did a great job
@Jeroen Thanks for citing me.
I don't care about the structure of the talk at all. This was a philosophical and humorous way of showing us the sheer unlimited possibilities of svg, canvas and OpenGl. Very inspiring! But yeah, I don't care about pros and cons either, so you might as well not have the slides in there, or maybe at the very end, in case you would have some time left on a rare occasion. Thanks for sharing this and making us laugh.
