Talk comments

I genuinely feel that any conference targeted at the newer or lower level developers should make this talk mandatory. Even given the high number of OS contributors I really enjoyed hearing other people's experiences of contributing.

Gread job Geekie ;)

Beautifully delivered and an amazing new tool for me to try out when I get back to work. What more can I say. As a note to conference organisers, this would be much better as a tutorial as 40-50 minutes is too short for such a cool topic.

I enjoyed the talk and took away some useful ideas.

To be constructive, using a presentation program (even Google Slides) means that the program will resize the content for the screen it's displayed on, which is a useful tip when working with projectors.

I also felt that you spoke quite quickly which made you difficult to understand at some points.

Kudos to you for a very good presentation dispute technical difficulties.

Perfectly delivered (as usual), and very interesting content. Even though I new about most of the tools, walking away with one new tool to try is a huge win.

I rate 5 stars for the movie, but only 1 star for the speaking as I couldn't understand it. I would only suggest that if you want to have the opening in Dutch (and why shouldn't you, it's a Dutch conference!), you should in English tell attendees where the toilets are, where the tracks are etc.

on Opening

Really enjoyed, the low numbers actually helped make the tutorial feel very inclusive.

Beers were excellent, I felt the tasting went on a little too long and the presenter spoke a little too much. To be fair, he expected to present in Dutch and actually spoke in English so he probably took longer to explain himself.

It was great to get a lot of interaction and discussion from the crowd.
The intro could be shortened or use a slide.

I think this is a great talk by Uncle Bob Martin touching on some of the very points the PHP Hooligans are trying to make:

The beers chosen were great, and again awesome people. Only problem is that there was a little bit too much talking, and the presenter seemed to get annoyed if people were socialising, but he wouldn't stop talking so it was difficult to discuss the beers in between and things you'd like to do on a social! With other words: It was a bit difficult to be social.

That in mind, it was really great information and I actually found a dark beer that I liked! If only I could remember the name of it....

Put a bunch of geeks in one room, add games and alcohol and you have both entertainment (some even literally rolled around laughing) and a social. Great concept with games! I'm a big fan of board games and the way you had games both for us "hardcore" gamers and the easy funny social ones (cards against humanity anyone?) made it an event fun for everyone involved.

People who didn't want to play could of course just be there, enjoy the view and chat.
