Yup, can't think how this could have been improved. Thanks!
I'm really glad they video these talks, because this was one that I'll need to watch once a month for a few months to let it sink in. Not that it was too hard/fast/badly delivered (quite the opposite) - but I need to mull it all over for a while, I think.
As others have commented, follow up blogs posts etc. would be very welcome!
I've never really got to grips with UML - it's always been on my 'ought to' list. So this was helpful - although I agree with the other comments that a worked example would be really valuable. Starting with a blank sheet of paper, and then going through a 'real life' project up to the point you start writing code.
I'm always interested in process talks like this, I've been using Kanban in anger for almost 12 months now, after several attempts in the past.
It was good to see how we do things validated by another talk.
One thing I would have added were I giving the talk is that Kanban is as much a change tool as it is a project management tool. It highlights in a very real way where the problems are in your project, eg if your QA column is constantly empty, or the ready to deploy is constantly full. You see it quickly and can see the results of any changes just as quickly.
We've also put a lot of effort into simplyfying our board, reducing the number of columns so that the board is easy to keep up to date.
A passionate and interesting delve into the technicalities of what happens when your PHP code is executed.
This was a funny informative talk, and a great send off for PHPNW this year. They really nailed it selecting this one for the final keynote
An excellent, mind blowing talk, in which I walked away with a lot more questions than answers, but in a really good way.
This is really important, and it was well delivered and full of useful pointers.
Would love to see the slides... (please?)
Wasn't sure whether to expect refactoring or language features. The content was good and thank you for the book references, very useful
Absolutely inspiring talk, so much passion and information conveyed in such a short time.
