Although I'm not a drupal developer nor know much about drupal, I learned a great deal how drupal 8 borned and able to feel speaker's passion on drupal. However, I feel like speaker's presentation is mainly for drupal developer and feel like it was mainly drupal promotion talk.
Although drupal has great features and components, I was hoping to learn how it would benefit programmer and why non-drupal developer should join drupal developer.
Percentage of people using WordPress and why only 2% of web is running drupal may indicates drupal may need to improve some of core strategies, not because I'm WP developer.
Awesome. Wondering when WordPress wil do this.
Well done. A whirlwind look at a HUGE undertaking. Glad to hear how much consideration given to getting consensus.
Great stage presence and honest communication.
An excellent overview of how and why the Drupal community chose to collaborate with the PHP community at large in transitioning Drupal to use modern third-party libraries in version 8. Thanks Angie!
Good session. Bart is a good teacher and is willing to help students get the most out of his courses.
I enjoyed listening to Gemma. She managed to bring an infectious excitement to the topic of testing...and showed some great ways to take a mess of code and gradually make it testable.
She said at the beginning that she was probably repeating a lot of what Paul Jones had to say in the previous talk, but I don't really think she did. I think Gemma provided much smaller bites that can be taken to make it through the spaghetti.
I think this was a very good overview of the idealism we should all be striving for in open source and in open movements. I really enjoyed listening to jam. He's a very engaging and exciting speaker.
I was impressed with Luke's talk. I went into the keynote with low expectations...I am not particularly interested in starting my own company, or even really being involved with a brand new company. It's not a risk I'm willing to take at this time in my life.
However, Luke almost convinced me it's something that I could do. He hit the nail on the head so many times, I think it's recessed into the wood. I'd definitely listen to him again. I doubt I'll start my own company any time soon, but if I get the inspiration, I think Luke's ideas and presentation could help me be successful.
I have always had a love hate relationship with Drupal. This talk was encouraging for seeing some of the changes being worked on in Drupal 8.
