Buying Chris' book, then attending this talk was worth the price of attending the conference.
I have now have a very difficult web setup simplified into containers. I have a docker directory with all the files needed to build custom images and run the containers. I have containerized commands too for composer and aliases to run phpunit in the docker image. Development & QA just became a lot easier and progressive steps were made toward automating processes. This is awesome! I can work as normal, with a lot less dependency on the host environment. All in a days work.

Thanks again Chris, for explaining the process in an engaging, hands-on manner, and walking everyone through the commands that are needed to adopt the Docker platform!

I was very familiar with this topic, but I still gleaned a few insights.
Eli has great knowledge of this topic.

Would recommend updating this talk further, perhaps adding some hands on "fixing" to the workshop so that attendees can apply/test their own awareness of the "top ten". Perhaps a snippet test in the beginning... and a more full "self-test" with answer key for later.

Thanks.

I disagreed with like 60% of some of Chris's opinions but damn if he wasn't entertaining and made compelling arguments. That makes great speakers. It's easy enough to have someone who you can nod and say "Yup, we're doing that" or "That's on our Q1 roadmap". When a speaker makes you question and think a bit more, that's what fuels real discussion in the industry.

Very knowledgeable speaker, once she is more comfortable with public speaking her delivery will improve.

Good introductory info about Slim - I definitely plan to look at Slim for future API projects. Ashley clearly knows her shit, but was just as clearly extremely nervous and was occasionally unclear as a result. With some practice and refinement this could be a very good introduction to Slim.

Great all around talk.

Loved hearing the real-world experiences. Very clear slides supporting the talk itself. The only negative is that at the end I wasn't clear how the eponymous monolith was actually slain so much as replaced. Still, good info and and a great speaker.

Sammy was energetic and positive, love that in a speaker. There was a personable nature to his talk that is so tough to replicate. There was a solid balance of deep tech knowledge and social skills, which is important to keep in mind in talks.

Excellent talk! inspiring, informative and well delivered.
