I'm trying to find the right words to express my feelings about this talk but I can't really find them. I've learned a lot during this talk, both about myself and about others. I've taken away many lessons. This has by far been the most valuable talk I've attended at this conference and many other. Thank you, Ed, for being so open and clear and sharing your experiences.
Straight to the heart of the matter, so to speak. We all have issues. Just like software, we are all "buggy". This talk offered a great, personal glimpse into the internal lives of what I'm sure most developers go through on a regular basis (in varying levels of severity). Fantastic.
gave us a great list of low hanging fruit for optimization, and most importantly provided them in priority order. excellent information.
Excellent talk. What makes it work so well is Ed is just honest and open with everyone. I really hope everyone has a chance to hear this talk at some point, because it is so very helpful.
loved this talk. it's stuff i think about all the time. good to hear it confirmed. of course, it also makes me wish that i was on a team full of people that thought this way. too many employers hire for (essentially) how fast you can type, instead of the quality of planning & design that you can produce.
Most of the talk is listening to his explanation of long opaque code examples. There is tons of information in this presentation, but he's ramming through it far too quickly to absorb it. Overall it felt like I just got a half-day course rammed into a hurried 1-hour presentation.
I liked the translation for PhpUnit's user. You answered my questions. Will be useful. Thanks
Awesome talk. Thank you for speaking about it Ed.
Very good talk, and nice coverage of Guard to kick off PHPUnit tests. Kept me engaged, and spoke very clearly and loud. Code on slides would be more readable and identifiable if a monospaced font were used. Would love to see this talk expanded to a full size talk, and perhaps incorporate some sort of demo.
Lots of fun, and great collection of questions. Moderators did a great job keeping it engaging.
BALDIES RULE!!!
