Talk comments

I think this talk's content is great and focuses on a practical look into Event Sourcing, which is exactly what I was looking for, not a "what is event sourcing" but a "this is how we do it". For that it was awesome.

The presentation however could use some "ironing out". I was very confused by the jumping between code samples from classes that I had no idea where they fit in the big picture, maybe show a "map" of the parts talking to each other, before jumping into the code so we get a better sense of where we are going.

Some of the code samples had "lines you can ignore since its not relevant to our example", just remove those lines, less confusion. I think using the domain of your own wok is great, but this talk may go by easier with a simplified domain, or by skipping the details that do not pertain to the topic itself.

The pointer not working was a shame and seemed to throw Willem a bit off, but i did see the passion for the subject, and think with a bit of buffering this will be a amazing talk for people looking for a practical look into ES.

Really enjoyed this talk as an introduction to Docker, it finally painted for me a good picture of the goal of containers and how Docker fits into that, without all the ranting being done by other speakers.

If I had one tip to give it would be to align the configuration files in the various slides and demos since they all were slightly different from the other, this made me lose a few moments trying to figure out why instead of being immersed in the talk.

Laura did a great job speaking, well paced and energetic.

The delivery was pretty good, I liked that there was a team presenting rather than just the one person.
I had some prior knowledge of the subject, even though I didn't realize it was called web components and I feel they explained it very clearly. In the end I still don't agree with the concept or usage, but they showed the implementation pretty well I think.

Igor delivered an amazing talk, this man is a pro at presenting. I regret not seeing more of his talks. Maybe the talk was a little heavy on the history and I'm definitely going to have to watch the talk again to really be able to process it all I think. I found the talk really interesting and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Best talk of the conference.

Initially I wasn't too certain on going to this talk, and frankly, the first 30 minutes I wasn't too excited about my choice for it on the day. Near the end of the talk things started to click together a bit though and I could make sense of at least part of the information that came around, which really helped. I thought it was a great subject, and I will definitely go/come back for more.
Both the talk and delivery need work though, Stefanie's enthusiasm is just bursting out of her, which is awesome to see.. but sadly not all of us are as smart as her and I for one could definitely have used a bit more dumbing down, especially at the start.

This was one of the talks I was looking forward the most during the day, because of it this perhaps I was a little disappointed.

I do believe the talk delivered on what it was supposed to do, but it was very unorganized, you have to learn both event sourcing as well as the code relevant for qandidate.com and separating the two wasn't always clear to me.
Regardless, I found the talk interesting and look forward to hearing more on the subject!

I liked learning about microKanren and the like. As always, these sort of topics bring me pleasure. However, I would have liked to see a little less history (I still like the history, but time is short) and a bit more deliberate explanation of some of the more mathematic concepts (so that I could walk away with a few more mathematic concepts).

I would have preferred to see a bit more insight in the difference between VMs and containers as well as maybe a little more exploration of docker itself. That said, the talk was well delivered and I am delving deeper into the subject because of it.
