Talk comments

Harrie definitely showed us that database schema's can be controlled, the talk had a nice build-up. It started with fairly simple solutions and as the talk continued you got the picture how these can become more advanced life savers. All the questions that came in mind got answered while the talk progressed, and at the end I got the whole picture without asking a single question.

At the last minute I decided I wanted to see something else than just the architecture and QA sessions so I just walked into Michael's talk. It was pretty impressive to see that Cairo was so much faster than already known libraries like GD and ImageMagick. These are the kind of slides that convince me to look further into it. And although the rest of the presentation was mainly an explanation of the classes and methods it sure helps to get started quickly.

This was really a very nice talk, the fast pace, the simple but useful information was really good. And although everyone keeps fighting against 'the ties' about this subject, the tool to express technical debt in money was absolutely ground-breaking for developers dealing with this convincing issue!

After seeing Derick talk a few times in the past I had very high expectations of this talk. And I wish I hadn't most parts of the talk were already pretty well known and didn't go into much depth. The part about traits was pretty interesting, but we're not able to use it yet. And maybe some more info about PHP 5.3's namespaces would've fit in quite well.

All in all a decent talk which needs a little more structuring and some more in-depth info on the subject.

I love the fact that Rob's talk is centered in the real world. He isn't a purist, "everything must be phing". He showed a good mix of using existing tools and "roll your own" when it makes sense.

Rob, nice addition to the previous day tutorial.

I like it very much, I learned a lot of new things, I hope to see the slides one of these days. I hope next time to have the slides, so I can put my comments and remarks immediately on them.

I agree with the above comments. If you use slides, put something on them. I can browse flickr if i want pretty pictures.

There is a lot of information I can use here ;-) I hope to find the video about the card deck trick.

Good presentation, just a shame the best solution is still roll your own :)
