Ben's speaking style was very engaging. The visual guides were helpful and effectively used.

Great demos and examples of the differences and pitfalls between the two extensions - would have loved to see a bit on cairo and gmagick as well - and sucks that the wifi broke the demo :(

This talk really got me interested in the mapping capabilities of applications. The talk was delivered well, and the example code was enough to give a real-world sense of what writing mapping application code takes. After this talk, I'm definitely interested in checking out OpenStreetMap, when before I had very little interest at all.

This was was a good introduction into what goes into making PHP extensions, and the differences between that and writing PHP applications. The talk was less of a tutorial than I had expected, but given the time constraints and the fact that it requires a bit of C knowledge, this was not a bad thing. The talk was delivered well, those there was more "just always put that in the code" with no explanation as to why as I typically like. Still, I feel prepared to continue learning about PHP extensions enough to possibly write them in the future. The talk, overall, was an excellent overview of what to expect.

Very interesting introduction to the OpenStreetMap db and different ways to use it.

Some background with mapserver / projections / tiger line data but it's been a few years.
Really enjoyed presentation

The presentation was very straight forward, filled with code examples and comparisons between the two libraries.

I liked the code examples, But some more concrete examples of why these features will be useful would be nice. Most of the features seemed rife for abuse, it would be nice to hear some practical uses.

This talk on testable applications was delivered very well. Clear and concise examples were given, and easy to remember tips and thoughts on how one should think when writing applications were appropriately abundant. Excellent talk.
