Talk comments

Good demo and I like the running commentary on what makes a micro frame work "micro". Maybe the code examples would have been better if you had shown the diffs from one checkout to another. It was a little hard to follow what had been changed from one step to another.

I've been using git for a while now and I have a pretty good sense of how some of the features work, however I still have a lot to learn. I really appreciated your explanation of 'reset' and 'rebase'.

I've seen videos of this speaker talking about REST before, they were good. This talk was an excellent update. When I looked at the slide deck later (on my computer) I saw the slides looked a lot nicer then they did on the projector. Maybe there's a better color scheme that will translate better when there's a not so nice projector in the mix.

Great overview of the new features. I really liked the use of pictures to explain terms that are ambiguous (from one framework to another). I only wish this talk occurred later in the day; it was pretty early for me, still though, I learned a lot.

I got lost a few times but that's probably because I'm new to some of the concepts. However I can't help but wonder if the code examples wouldn't have benefited from comparing old style JS with code examples that use the new features.

Overall though, I think this was a tricky (and very important) subject and the speaker took a decent crack at trying to explain it.

I don't work regularly with Drupal and I was able to follow a long enough to not only get a taste of what's in Drupal 8 but I also got a better sense of what Drupal is about in general.

A lot of information I've heard before but still good reminders. I feel like it could have been a bit more technical, or at least talked more about what resources were out there. A bit more on the 'how' and a little less on the 'why'.

Incredible practical advice for freelancers. I've been freelancing since 2008 (7 years) and Yitz eloquently articulated inspirational wisdom that has already positively influenced my freelance life the very next day after the talk.

I had to hold back from periodically shouting out a hearty "amen" as truth was being spoken throughout the talk. Thank you very much Yitz! :)

A well done talk. I did walk away feeling guilty. I promise I will find an open source project and contribute some documentation effort to it.

This talk tied with another as my favorite of the conference. I thought some of the advice was very practical and often gets forgotten in a moment of panic. I thought this particularly of the obvious advice, to calm down, relax, breathe and think about next steps and making a plan before just reacting. All excellent! I liked the real world examples, even if the names were changed to protect the guilty. If anything, I would have liked to have heard more about those.
