Talk comments

Great talk to kick off the conference with some very thought provoking concepts. It can only be a good thing when a non-technical talk makes me realise I ought to revisit some of my code!

A really good talk that introduced me to exactly what Xdebug can do which is great because it looks like a really helpful tool. Good demos and presentation.

A good talk with some good examples to show what PHPDocumentor is capable of. A shame about the technical problems, but otherwise a very well delivered talk.

Pretty well pegged for the time available. May well have been "beneath" those with a background in other OO languages but we'd be wise to remember that a lot of people come to PHP with no prior experience and wouldn't otherwise know about various best practices.

Very thorough but probably too much detail for me to take in on a Sunday morning with a hangover.

Good introduction and well presented live coding demo. We use jQuery pretty extensively but I've never looked into creating plugins.

on jQuery

Knew most of this already, but I expected I would :) Think quite a few people were impressed with how well symfony copes with Zend components.

Drop a thumb because there's a little room for improvement on the slide design.

Nicely delivered and interesting to get an insight into another organisation's approach to deploying new tools.

Well delivered, good pace and balance of content. Quite a lot of what we already do / know we should do but that's good to confirm we're going the right way and encourage us to take the last few steps.

Nice start to the conference and a well presented talk but I didn't feel totally inspired.

The talk mentioned how too many people say their knowledge of PHP is 7 or 8 out of 10 because people don't know what they don't know. Likewise it's always possible to improve as a speaker :)
