I enjoyed this talk, it mirrored precisely the decisions which we are currently making at work. Very informative! :)
Great talk.
I've taken a lot of this back with me, simple ideas, like printing designs on nice paper, and due dates in client emails! brilliant!
Great overview of the SPL.
Adding in some examples of where we might have encountered implementations of the SPL in common libraries / frameworks might have helped people identify with the features a little more.
Overall a very good talk!
Very concise and informative.
Unfortunately unable to attend on Sunday, because I'd have like to have been there for this talk... pity there wasn't any recording, so I'll have to make do with the uploaded slides
I have to confess and say that I came to PHPNW09 as a novice developer when compared to the other people that attended; I've only had my head in PHP for just over 2 months! I'm primarily a web and print designer, so around 40% of the stuff at the conference went over my head.
But this lecture was by far the most useful. Techy enough to satisfy the hardcore people there, but generic enough to allow the lessons to be integrated into other disciplines (including my own). Good lecture overall
Really nice conference rooms, good sound set-up and overall perfectly organised.
And I won a pretty helpful book as well!
Good quality food, but I'm a growing boy and could've done with a slightly larger portion!
Ooh I already mentioned this on the main comments... fail, but the food was great, including the veggie option which was definitely not a "special" option but right up there with the other meals. Also having a steady supply of biscuits and such is a nice touch for the peckish.
If I had to make one small comment it would be that queueing for water at the dispensers was a bit nuts - maybe some icy jugs could be pre-prepared instead?
I agree with Kewley. This was my favourite talk of the entire event too!
He has certainly inspired me to look closer at the PHP Project and get involved!
Again, as Kewley said.... Ming.. lol :)
