What else can I add that others haven't already covered? Not much! Thanks for an entertaining and thought-provoking talk.
I really enjoyed LB's talk. It was funny, clever, detailed and informative. I took away several good action points to take up with my team at home, and genuinely learnt stuff (which I hadn't expected to on a talk on testing). The way she covered the topics was superb, treating the audience as experienced developers who could do with tidying up their testing practices.
Unlike other commenters I felt it was passionate rather than ranty - and well pitched for the intended audience.
I didn't really get a great deal out of the talk. The content was presented in a very dry manner and I didn't feel there was any passion or interest in the subject matter from Sebastian. On a positive note, I was introduced to a few new tools that I hadn't heard of before, namely Behat and Atoum.
Personally I thought this talk was the best of the day, i'm a big fan of ORM, and the Data Mapper pattern and could understand why Juozas needed to explain the fundamentals. But it probably should of only been a short summary, and made better use of the time explaining the advantages for using doctrine 2, and a more detailed comparsion between doctrine v1 and v2.
The talk was given in detail and with passion, and i throughly enjoyed the flow, even the bashes at propel!
Would have been nice to focus on one or two of the more finalised aspects of ZF2 and spend more time discussing use-cases, benefits, improvements, etc. The new event management system and dependency injection system, for example. I'm looking forward to using ZendDi - especially now that I know we should be able to configure our code using annotations.
Another superb talk by, in my opinion, one of the best speakers at the conference. Rowen combined great stage presence, a very well prepared talk (with, yet again, a great underlying theme and graphics) and clearly distilled personal experience to educate and entertain on a topic that many of us grapple with constantly. Good insights and tips I am looking forward to trying out - plus extra points for very graceful handling of technical issues :) I know exactly what such glitches do to your nerves just as you start your talk and Rowen coped admirably.
Great to see some practical demonstrations and some challenges being taken from the audience.
A great talk taking us through the basics of CLI scripting with PHP to some of the more complex tasks such as process forking.
I'm looking forward to the next talk from Thijs that i get to see
Top keynote. It was clear, concise, made the point nicely, and most importantly, wasn't too long and drawn out. Good work!
A good talk on a very useful tool. I suspect a little bit of nerves was behind speeding though the talk but I don't actually think the delivery was particularly rushed. Slow things down a little and maybe use the remaining time available to show some common configurations or show off some cool tricks for using phing in unexpected ways.
Even if many in the room already knew much of the material, you kept everybody engaged and interested. Thanks for the entertaining, engaging, and interesting talk.
