I only made it towards the end, but it's a good venue and even though the room looks small, it doesn't really get too crowded. Comfy sofas too.
Tech talks are usually a dry and occasionally dull...David's approach and humour puts the lie to that. Funny, knowledgable and well-paced. Live demos are always high-risk, and the technical hiccups broke up the flow a little, but worthwhile demos nonetheless.
Top notch talk from Ian Barber, whose depth and range of knowledge is outstanding. Great balance between introduction of 0MQ and the level of technical detail, and wonderful to see example running code demonstrated on the fly.
lots of code and live examples, great talk
My favourite session of the day. Clearly and professionally presented, and the use of code in slides was well done and demonstrated the concepts very well. As an OO PHP dev there were some patterns I knew and am already using and others that I hadn't encountered, so it has left me with a good overview of those and a starting point to read more.
Good topic to start the day, enthusiastic delivery - great considering the self-confessed jetlag!
Really good talk, easy to understand and delivered with good live usage examples. Went at a good pace and as a result I'm going to make a lot more effort to use Xdebug in future.
This was the talk of the show for me. I had high hopes going in and was not disappointed.
great talk on an interesting subject.
Normally I just use 3g, but phone reception was pretty poor in there so I think the wifi was getting doubly hammered by everyone. Don't know if there's some kind of extra option they can provide.
