Good coverage on the different types of NoSQL. Why they exist, what problems they aim to solve.
How no single solution solves all problems.
Little too much at times, this came from his obvious passion on the subject.
Well executed. Good speaker.
Felt that it wasn't advanced enough for an "Advanced OO Patterns" talk.
Some great usage examples.
Covered all the topics that needed covering. Explained how it would best be used. Best approaches to deploying to EC2. Explained problems and when not to use.
Good topic well delivered.
Only being harsh here 'cause I know David fully kicks ass when he's properly prepared. The demo was cool, but it would have been nice to see if with a bit more polish so we could have explored some more of the advanced concepts. Always entertaining to watch though and well-informed on the subject so came away having learned some interesting things.
Fantasic talk.
Well executed.
Good depth of complexity.
Only a few nitpicking issues really. Screens were too low in tracks 1 and 2, which was the same problem as last year. Track 1 got quite a lot of background noise from behind the screen divider, that was a bit distracting. The upstairs area with tables and power was really helpful though.
Fairly tasty and not overly heavy. Wasn't falling asleep after, which is a plus.
Coffee did its job. Pastries were unexpectedly nice.
Really good introduction to Elastic Search, Andrei clearly knows the project inside out and had a good mix of the basics and hints about what it can do, which is enough to answer the question I had. The demos were excellent as well, I particularly enjoyed the EC2 autodiscovery example
